Barbaresco Gaja 1998 Alcohol content 14% vol. 100% Nebbiolo grapes. Ripening IN oak barrels FOR 18 months AND extremely long fining IN bottle. Intense garnet colour WITH good brightness. ON the nose, extremely concentrated AND elegant scents. Red fruit (blackberry, blueberry, plum), scent OF violet AND rose, sweet notes OF vanilla, licorice AND other sweet spices, tobacco, bitter cocoa, tamarind AND tertiary aromas. Mouth-filling taste, WITH tannins still very noticeable AND a great freshness. Persistence IS long, hot AND fruity. Wine WITH an extremely rich taste. Best WITH spiced rack OF venison IN wine sauce, OR Chianina fillet WITH porcini mushrooms ON top.
